Can I switch from wordpress.com to wordpress.org and keep my content and design?

  Hi everyone.
  I’m very new to wordpress. Once i’ve built up some content I might like to switch to the downloadable software at wordpress.org and buy a domain name+hosting etc.
  Is there a way that I can move my design and content that i’ve got on wordpress.com to the wordpress.org software?

  Content and comments transfer easily.

  The Themes even with the same name tend to be a bit different, so you will need to do some rework on the Theme features and learn about Plug-in’s.

  Thanks auxclass. I’ll look into how to transfer and plug-ins when I decide to switch, I just needed to be certain it was possible before I started adding content.

  Export / Import are the magic words for the transfer. There are also guides on how to move here, if you watch the forum for a day or two all your questions will probably be answered.
