Can I use my own domain using wordpress?

    Hello,

I have a website built and registered on a different hosting server.

I also have a domain name purchased.

My question is: Can I build a website in wordpress and use my domain name without any additions: wordpress etc?

If so, is it possible to write a page in text editor and import it to wordpress, or do you I have to work completely on shared templates?

I’m asking theese questions because my client cares about CMS, he already has a CMS website, but cannot access it and is very outdated. All that’s left for me to do is move the domain elsewhere and build the website from scratch. I have no experience working with CMS

Yes, and we have two options for using a domain you already own with a site hosted here:

Mapping allows you to keep the domain registered with your current domain registrar and direct it to your WordPress.com site: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/

A transfer would allow to manage both your site and domain from the same place: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/

It may work, but we can’t make any promises. In general, we recommend sticking to our editor, and we have some extensive documentation available at https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/
