Can I use the Parent Template?

  Can I use the Parent Template to make changes?
  Could I lose all my changes if there is any WP updates?
  Do I really need to Create a Child Theme out of the template?

  On my Window 7 the website appear correctly when I use my ipad the website specially the font are all different

  Is that normal?

  WordPress.com users cannot create child themes or use a parent theme as we cannot edit either the PHP or HTML files.

  The most you can do on WordPress.com is edit the CSS of any theme once you purchase the annually renewable Custom Design Upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/

  If you are referring to a self-hosted WordPress.org install, then you will have to seek help at the correct support forum, which is http://wordpress.org/support/
