Can I write my own code for my Pro Package site?

    Sorry, being a bit lazy… OK so I got Pro Package hosting on wordpress.com and I bought a premium theme too. Two questions – can I create my own Page templates and/or edit the ones that come with my theme at ‘code’ level? Also, if I want to pull content from another platform, can I embed iframes in pages, or perhaps use JSON or something for the data I want to display? Or would I create my own widget(s) for this? Or do I actually need to be working with my own WordPress server? Many thanks.

    It’s not possible to access the theme code. Also some embed code will not work because we remove JavaScript, Flash, iframe, form, and input tags for security reasons.

    There are no restrictions if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities. We have hosting recommendations at the following link if you are interested.
