Can my existing site's database work on wordpress

  • Unknown's avatar

I have an existing site with a fully searchable database that takes registrations, creates profiles, etc. I paid a developer to build it and bought a template to use. I want to have more control over the look, feel, and content (other than the database) since my developer makes me beg to change anything. I am familiar with wordpress and would like to integrate the existing database and its functions into a wordpress based site. Basically, I want to change my site to the wordpress CMS so I can make simple changes and updates without begging. Is this possible and how?

You may also want to look into a self-hosted WordPress site using the software available from WordPress.org.

The WordPress.org support forums may also be a resource for gathering information on your particular export/import situation and if it is possible to move from your current setup to WordPress:
