Can not change address

  Hi, I had been playing around with ideas for the address of my new blog and left the tab open in my browser for a few days (not computer on for several days. Just tab open). I came to finally sign up today, but it turns out what I thought was my blog name was actually my username (fail, I know), and for the address it just kept the last one I tried (which was never shown to me today in the process).
  I want to change it now, but when I go to the ‘change blog address’ section I only get an error message that reads:

  ‘The page requested does not exist

  The page you requested does not exist, or you do not have have the necessary privileges to access it. You may return to the dashboard of Site Title by clicking here.

  If you reached this screen by accident and meant to visit one your own sites, here are some shortcuts to help you find your way.’

  So the question is: Is the link simply broken, or am I unable to change the address because it’s a free account? Should I just forget this one blog and sign up again?

  I am currently stuck with marianagonzalezcl.wordpress.com and I want to change that to blogmarianagonzalez.wordpress.com

  Hi there,

  You’re unable to change the address because your account is not verified yet. When you signed up for the account we sent you an email to verify your account. If you didn’t receive that, please check your Spam folder and any other filters that might be active in your email inbox. Once you verify by clicking the link in that email you will be able to change your site address.

  Ah, I added the new one but didn’t get rid of the old one and now I can’t seem to figure out how to do that. Any pointers? I want the marianagonzalezcl address to disappear forever. Thanks!

  I want the marianagonzalezcl address to disappear forever.

  marianagonzalezcl.wordpress.com can be deleted using these steps:

  Delete a Website

  Deleting a site is permanent so if there is a chance you may want to use that address again in the future, marking the site as private might be a better option — doing so will mean it won’t be visible to the public.
