  can security be configured to allow contributor to only change specific pages?

  The site I need help with is [visible only to staff] (email visible only to moderators and staff).

  Contributors can only create and edit their own posts: https://wordpress.com/support/user-roles/#contributor

  There is no way to restrict it beyond that.
