Can the the URL of an established (free) site be changed without losing the cont

    Can the the URL of an established (free) site be changed without losing the content?
    Have built a site which was originally intended to be private, but now want to make public. The current URL contains personal name, and would want to make it more pertinent to the subject matter (if available). Can this be done?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    If you would like to change your WordPress.com site URL, there are options and instructions for doing so here:

    Please bear in mind that once changed, that site’s oroginal WordPress.com URL will become permanently unavailable for future use. If you feel that you might need that URL again in the future, you might want to start a new site and export your content from your old site and import it into the new site.
