Can WordPress.org self-hosted blogs show in the Reader?

    Hello,
I have a question. I thought that on wordpress.com blogs, we couldn’t promote products or do affiliate marketing etc. So I decided to self-host my wordpress.org blog. I have Jetpack installed; however, as I understand, self-hosted blogs are not supposed to show up in the wordpress.com Reader. But recently I have come across some commerical-type, self-hosted blogs that show up in the Reader when I search for a specific keyword.

Am I completely misunderstanding….or is possible for other people to search a key term and find my blog or other self-hosted blogs in the wordpress.com reader. Thank you!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

Self-hosted Jetpack blogs do not currently appear in the “Explore Topics” section, although you can subscribe to them and follow their posts in the Reader.

It’s possible that the blogs you saw are hosted at WordPress.com but have their own custom domains. WordPress.com blogs must comply with our terms of service, and you can read more about the types of blogs that are allowed here: http://en.wordpress.com/types-of-blogs/

If you find a WordPress.com blog that you think violates our terms of service, please visit our dispute resolution and reporting page here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/disputes/
