Can you please help me change my homepage from one static page to another??

  I have an established homepage that features a slider currently. I need to change my homepage to another static page- one that does not feature a slider. When I go into settings and set the homepage to my new (desired) page, all that loads is my header and my footer- no page content. Can you please help me adjust my homepage from what it is currently to a different static page?

  To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
