Can you put Paldrop links on WordPress.com blogs?
-
I currently have two blogs with Bluehost so I’m very familiar with self hosted WordPress.I am currently writing two ebooks and want to start a personal/author blog.I recently read someone’s guide on how to sell your ebook on a free wordpress blog using PayPal buttons.I have done lots of searching and can’t find anything on actually selling digital downloads directly.
I use Paldrop to sell downloads now.You download the ebook to their site and give you an html link to place in your sidebar widget or wherever.I was just wondering if this is allowed or if I need to get another self hosted blog.
Thanks,
AmandaThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You are allowed to link to download links for your ebooks, but I’m not sure whether Paldrop are affiliate links and if so, what format. iframe links will be stripped out, as will javascript links.
Generally, I recommend using the Paypal donate button and when you get the donation, just emailing them the book. If you anticipate so much overwhelming traffic this is not practical, you really do need an independent install where such things can be automated.

Thank you so much for the quick response.Paldrop is a site where you upload your own digital product to sell. They generate an html download link and PayPal button for you.You add your PayPal id when you sign up.
I started using this when I couldn’t figure out how to use the WordPress plugins for ecommerce on my self hosted blogs.

I very much doubt the paypal code will work in a WordPress.com blog. The only PP code that i know works here is the Donation button.
We cannot tell whether the code will work here without seeing the actual code, so please give us an example, pasting the code between backticks so it shows up.
