Cancel and transfer domain
-
Hello! I’ve just deleted my account on WordPress and I’d like to use my own domain on another website, but I can’t do it. My domain isn’t available, even if I don’t have any wordpress account. Why?
Can someone help me?
Thanks!

Hi there,
I don’t see any domains ever registered on the account you’re contacting us from. What’s your domain name so I can have a look and point you in the right direction of getting support?

Hello,
My domain is http://www.lauracarvalhoarte.com, it was registered on WordPress. I canceled my account last week and still can’t use my domain in another platform.
Thanks!

I can see that the last renewal for lauracarvalhoarte.com was back in July of 2018. The domain registration was not renewed this year. Because of that, the domain is now in redemption. It is going to be quite a while before you can register it again as new: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/#redemption-period
We can reach out to our domain partner and request that the domain be reinstated. That process typically takes 2-3 days and also costs $80 extra. The domain registration is $18 annually.
Since your account was deleted, please start by repyling to the account deletion confirmation email. With that, we will restore your account so that we can restore the domain to it.

Hello!
I canceled my domain and website on WordPress, but it sill appears on Google search (ex: ‘laura carvalho art’ as a word keys for a search). I don’t want that this domain appears never more: http://www.lauracarvalhoarte.com.
My professional email was canceled too, so can’t receive any message from WordPress using it.
Thank you,
Laura

We don’t have any control over what Google shows in search results. The fact that you allowed the domain to expire with us does not remove it from Google’s index. To have it removed there you have to request it from Google directly.
