Cancel Domain

  Hi,

  I started my blog using WordPress.com and acquired the domain Notorius.fr with WordPress. In parallel, I’ve developed a new version of my blog using a theme I’ve bought online on a third party website (ThemeForest), and I now need to “detach” the URL Notorius.fr from this WordPress.com blog, in order to make it point to the website I’ve developed using WP.org material.

  I’ve looked at the different options you list on the support pages, but couldn’t find one that fits my needs. Consequently, it seems like the pure cancellation of the domain is the only solution I have.

  If there’s a way to solve this situation without canceling, thanks for letting me know. Otherwise, please proceed ! :)

  SOLVED ! I realized it was a “mapping” and not a domain included in WordPress.

  In a few words for those who might face the same issue : my domain had been acquired from a third party registrar, and we used the “domain mapping” option (13$) to “replace” the xxx.wordpress.com blog URL by mydomain.com. Going to “My Upgrades”, I could cancel that mapping and get the domain back.
