cancel domain

  Hi, I just renewed my domain http://www.nitproject.com but I regret it and I would like to cancel it.
  I have followed your instructions of canceling it on my upgrades and click “cancel”, but I don’t find that “cancel” option.
  Can you do it for me?

  Hi Tomeu,

  I can cancel your domain nitproject.com for you and refund the renewal payment. However, please keep in mind that canceling a domain means you give up ownership of that domain name. The domain name may not be released immediately, and there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to register it again in the future.

  If you’d like to keep the domain and use it somewhere else, you can transfer it instead: Transfer a Domain to Another Registrar

  If you’re sure you no longer want that domain, please let me know and I’ll cancel it and refund the renewal for you.

  Thanks, I wish to keep the domain and use it with another host.

  Thanks rachel. Now is all in hands of the new host. Two questions:
  – Do you know why all my posts and pages crated on the last three years disappeared?
  – Have you fixed the refund of the renewal payment?

  I took a look at your site at nitproject.com and I see quite a lot of posts there: http://nitproject.com/

  However, that is a self-hosted WordPress site (not hosted at WordPress.com) so you’ll need to log in to your dashboard there to access the site content. Here’s the login page for the site: http://nitproject.com/wp-login.php

  Have you fixed the refund of the renewal payment?

  If you wanted to cancel the domain (and not use it anymore) I could cancel the renewal and refund the renewal payment. Since you want to keep the domain, though, I can’t cancel it.

  However, even if you transfer the domain to another registrar/host your domain will be renewed for the full year (you won’t lose that renewal).
