Cancel domain

  I need to cancel my domain with you. I’ve decided to go through Bluehost and I am unable to publish until this happens.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  The account you’re using to post here has never owned a domain with us. What domain are you speaking of, please?

  Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future. Only cancel a domain if you’re completely sure you no longer want it at all.

  If you want to use the domain with Bluehost instead, we recommend you transfer it to them rather than trying to cancel and re-register it with them.

  That said, Bluehost has not switched their domain transfer process over to a GDPR-compliant process, so you’ll likely have a lot of difficulty transferring a domain to them at this point.
