Cancel domain and delete blog

  cancel domain:
  I no longer require this domain, I also want to delete my blog.
  My interest peaked weeks ago and I can’t see myself ever wanting to make another post.
  Please advise as to how I can do this asap

  Hi there, I’d be glad to help with this. First, just a heads-up that canceling a domain after 2 days of purchase means you completely give up ownership of the domain. There is no guarantee the domain will become available to re-register after cancellation.

  You are welcome to keep your domain with us and update the nameservers to point to another hosting provider by following this guide:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/

  After 60 days from the date of purchase or registrant contact information change, you may also transfer your domain to another registrar by following this guide:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/transfer-domain-registration/

  If you would like to completely cancel your ownership of the domain name, please reply to confirm.

  Once your domain is canceled the site will be able to be deleted, under Tools > Delete Site.

  Hi Kathryn
  thanks for your reply, I would like to cancel my domain and then delete my blog.
  I will use wordpress.com again in the future, I like the user-friendly set-up and the choice of themes is good too.

  I’ve cancelled your domain tripledroptraining.com as requested. You can now delete your site under Tools > Delete Site. Full instructions for deleting a site. Keep in mind that deleting a site is permanent and can’t be undone, and your blog address will never be able to be reused by you or anyone else. I strongly suggest you export your content before deleting the site in case you ever want to recreate it.

  As an alternative, you could set the site to private, so it’s not accessible to visitors or search engines.
