Cancel domain name completely
-
Hello, I would like to cancel my domain name completely. I have already canceled my subscription about a month ago for my domain name that I purchased on December 5, 2018, but my domain name is still showing up as taken. Please let me know how to release domain registration completely.
Thank You.

Hi there,
It’s not possible to manually delete a domain completely.
When you cancel a domain it goes through a short waiting period before we send the cancellation through to the registry that controls the domain. At that point we lose all control over the domain.
Then the domain will go through the redemption process, same as an expired domain, and only then will the registry completely delete it. However, the registry can choose not to make the domain available again after they delete it, so there’s no guarantee it will be released at all.
With some domains we instead hold the domain until it expires, at which point it goes through the normal 80-day expiration process before it’s released again.
When you cancel a domain, you give up ownership of it, and there’s no guarantee you’ll ever be able to use it again. If you still wanted to use the domain, you shouldn’t have cancelled it.
If you’re speaking of deerdeborah.com, that domain is currently still in redemption, so we can still get it back for you, but we have to pay a $80 fee to get back a domain that’s in redemption, and additionally we can only do it at the request of this account, which you have deleted since posting this forum thread.
If you want to attempt to get back this domain, please reply to the account closure email we sent you a few hours ago when you closed this account.
