Cancel my Domain

  I was charged $26 for renewal. The email said if I ‘Didn’t’ want the renewal to do nothing. I don’t want renewal and did nothing. Now my bank account is charged $26. Cancel this Domain immediately and refund the money. CANCEL ME… I do not use WordPress any longer… for over a year.

  I’m not seeing any purchases associated with the WordPress.com user account you are posting from. The last charge on this account was a year ago on 2015-11-01. Could you have another user account? What is the URL of the domain you were charged for?

  The charge was for tnlighthouse.com
  Haven’t used this account/blog in over a year.

  Also, why can’t I speak directly to WordPress—like their Accounting Customer Service which has a record of exactly what they recently charged me and why… Forums should be for minor “how to’s” not accounting questions regarding my bank payment information. This is pretty disappointing.

  Users with current paid upgrades can access livechat and email support here:

  https://wordpress.com/help/contact

  However, as I noted earlier, I cannot find any current charges on your account. The most recent charge was for a domain renewal in 2015. Nor can I find any other WordPress.com user accounts that have purchased upgrades for that site.

  I’m having exactly the same problem – eg I cannot seem to cancel my domain. When I go to manage my purchases the only option is to upgrade.
  I’ve been told WP will charge me 26USD unless I cancel.
  My domain is called notholy.com
  What do I do???

  The issue is that the WordPress.com user account that you are posting from is not the owner of that upgrade.

  Typically this happens because you ended up with a second WordPress.com user account at some point and THAT account is the one that was used to purchase the upgrade. You will need to log into that second account in order to cancel the upgrade.
