Cancel My Subscription to WordPress

  • Unknown's avatar

cancelled this subscription May 2013 because I was retiring. I emailed you at that time. Today I receive a note where you are charging me for yet another year. You already charged me for Aug 2013 to Aug 2014 which I did not notice. I would appreciate it if you would cancel my account with you and refund that which you have collected after May 2013.

    Hi there!

I’m sorry for the inconvenience. I don’t see any previous support tickets on your account, but I’m more than happy to refund your latest purchase. Please note that the refund can take up to a week to appear on your statement.

It looks like this upgrade was added to your account in August of 2013, so you couldn’t have requested it be removed before then. If you have an email from us about this previous to August of 2013 can you please forward it to support[at]wordpress.com (just replace “[at]” with the @ symbol). Include my name, Shawna, in your subject or message and I’ll be able to find it.

Let me know if I can help with anything else!

Sorry, I don’t keep emails that long. Can you see if you have a request in May of 2013 to cancel my site? I guess if you can’t you have made the free 30.00. That really surprises me because up till now I have had good dealings with wordpress.

    Hello again!

Totally understandable. However, your account (smartin1947) was created just over a year ago in June 2013, so there is no way we charged this account for an upgrade in May 2013.

Do you have another WordPress.com account?

I can dig into this further if you can provide me with a PayPal Transaction ID for the charge on your account. PayPal is our sole payment processor, which means that this transaction ID was generated even if you paid via credit card or another method.

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal-transaction-id/

When contacting PayPal, please have the following details of the transaction ready:

    – Name on card
    – Amount and date of transaction
    – Card number

Let me know if you have another account that this could be related to or you’re able to get that ID number!

Sorry, I misstyped. Since this account was created in June, there were no upgrades associated with it for you to cancel in May.

I’d love to help you out with this, so let me know if you’re able to find the PayPal transaction ID and I can look it up in our system.
