  Why do i get a partial refund if it said the domain was free for a year?

  A domain registration is free for the first year if you keep the plan. If you cancel the plan within the refund period, you’ll get a full refund. But if you cancel after the refund period of the domain registration, you will not get a refund for the domain.

  The refund period for a domain registration is 96 hours.

  It appears your domain is still within the refund period. If you want, you can still cancel the domain and get a refund of the domain registration cost. We can cancel it for you and issue a refund if you confirm that you’re okay with the following:

  1. You risk losing the domain permanently if you cancel it.
  2. It won’t be available for registration elsewhere right away.
  3. When it does become available, anyone can register the domain, so there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to register it elsewhere.

  We recommend keeping the domain if you wish to use it at all, even elsewhere. If you’re absolutely sure you don’t need the domain anymore, please follow the steps here to cancel the domain or let us know.
