Cancel subscription

Hi there,
I would like to cancel my subscription. It says in settings that this is possible and it calculates the refund I would receive. When I go through all these steps and select the reasons for cancelling afterwards a little window appears that says ‘not allowed’. Why is this?
Could you explain to me how I should go about it? I also bought my domain name, can I keep it without having a website online at the moment?

Hi Saskia,
I can see you have already cancelled your Personal plan and domain. We can issue domain refunds up to 48 hours after registration. saskialenaerts.com was registered on August 13th 2017 so we are no longer able to issue a refund for this domain.
I also bought my domain name, can I keep it without having a website online at the moment?
Do you want to use the domain for another site elsewhere? Or would you like to use it for a site here on WordPress.com?
If you let me know, I can look at your options.

I had the impression that wordpress owned the domain name i had “saskialenaerts.com”
I would still like to transfer it to a Persona site?
I would be very grateful if you could look at my options. I see that that domain name is still unavailable, so I was wondering who has is now?
When I want to open saskialenaerts.com this is what appears :
“www.saskialenaerts.com
This domain has been configured for use by Persona. Connect it by adding it to your Settings in your Persona’s Admin panel.
Once completed, this domain will automatically display your Persona. Should you require further assistance, please leave us a note.
If you’re moving your domain to a different platform, make this change in your registrar’s DNS control panel. ”

You own the domain. We are your registrar, meaning you pay us for ownership of the domain. But you can use the domain with any hosting provider you want, even if we are the registrar.
I would be very grateful if you could look at my options. I see that that domain name is still unavailable, so I was wondering who has is now?
You cancelled the domain, so at the moment nobody owns it. But cancelled domains don’t become available immediately. They go through a process that can last several months before anyone can use that domain again.
If you still want to use that domain I can try and recover it for you. Must I do that?

I’ve emailed our registrar to ask them to restore the domain. I’ll let you know once they reply.
You can use the domain with any platform you want to, yes. All you need is the other service’s Name Servers or IP address, and then we can use that to point the domain to them for you instead.

Our registrar has restored your domain and I’ve reactivated it on your account.
The domain is currently pointed to Rackspace, but it’s not connected to a site yet. You’ll need to do that directly at Rackspace.
