Canceled domain

  I cancelled my domain anchovytrove.com because I wanted to buy it via godaddy. It’s been over 5 days and it is still not available. When will it become available for purchase?

  Hi there,

  When a domain is canceled within 5 days of registration, it usually gets released. However, as your domain was registered last year, it doesn’t follow this process. Instead, when you canceled it, it entered into the redemption period. You can learn more here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-expiration/#redemption-period

  The good news is that the domain can still be recovered, but there is an $80 redemption fee required. If you agree to pay the fee, we can send you a payment form. Once the domain is restored, you will be able to transfer it to GoDaddy.
