Canceling: Hardship, can’t afford, didn’t want to renew, now being charged a ‘charge back fee’ for fraudulent billing schedule.

Wordpress tried to charge my renewal an ENTIRE MONTH early. My last payment was March 2021 on an ANNUAL plan, so I should not have been charged yesterday. I can’t afford this. My bank account will be over drafted and you will make me face additional, unnecessary hardship. I had honestly tried to navigate this site to cancel my plan a few weeks ago, but it’s incredibly hard to find certain things (and that may be intentional, since you probably don’t WANT people to cancel so, why would you make it easy?). I thought I had more time since it was an ANNUAL PLAN, but apparently your billing department decided otherwise. Long story short, Please refund my money, all of it. Then I will be deleting this site. It’s only been a day since the charge and I’m also putting in a dispute with PayPal to fight this. I do not intend to pay for this service any longer, especially if an annual plan is 11 months. If you refuse to work with PayPal and refund my money, I will take this dispute directly to my bank in person.

Annual plans are charged 1 month before expiration. You also got several emails telling you so. This is clearly stipulated at https://wordpress.com/support/manage-purchases/.
It’s very easy to manage your purchases, https://wordpress.com/support/manage-purchases/#manage-domain-purchases
You find info about disputes at https://wordpress.com/support/payment/chargebacks/

  • Hi there,

It appears that you filed a chargeback with your bank against us for that renewal, instead of contacting us for a refund.

I also see that you have an open ticket with our Billing Support team. They’ll review your account and follow up with you there.

We cannot discuss billing issues here on the forum.
