Cancellation
-
I was on Bluehost and clicked for more help and got WordPress so I hope you can help. I just cancelled my domain mswillnotstopme.blog and was assured of a £27 refund. I want to start again using that domain but it won’t let me (too soon?) Help I’d like the name back! I only want to start a blog and I’m totally new to this.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future.
In this case the domain should be released within the next day or two, at which point you’ll be able to register it again as a new domain at whichever provider you want to use it.
If you want to use the domain with a WordPress.com site, I can still also restore it to your account. But as we’ve already refunded your payment I’ll need you to first buy a new plan at My Site ->Plans.
In that case, please let us know once you’ve bought the plan so we can restore the domain.

Thank you so much for your reply. I have thought of another name(the first one took a few days!) and am using it at Bluehost as they have a discount which makes it affordable for me at the moment. It’s no wonder I got confused though at my first attempt – almost every page of the process has a link to WordPress that looks like the next stage you have to follow in the setup. It’s very easy to continue what you were doing in Bluehost when you’re actually in WordPress. I’m told that they’re nothing to do with each other but it’s hard to believe whilst setting up a domain.
Anyway, rant over. Your explanation has been by far the clearest I’ve received today – from both sites. Thank you very much. Have a good evening. night time here in the UK so I’m off to bed to rest my poor brain.Kind regards,
