Cancellation of my domain name : the domain is parked

    Hello,

    I bought my domain name “mathildeclauzet.com” a few weeks ago but then I decided not to stay on WordPress and to create a website on Wix instead.
    I terminated both my premium subscription on WordPress and my domain name. I thought I was going to get a refund of my domain name and the name would be available again on the market.
    However, I did not get a refund and the domain name is unavailable. It is “parked”
    So I paid for a domain name but I can’ t use it anymore, anywhere.

    I saw on the support groups that you could help me get my domain name back.
    Could you help me please ?

    Hey there,

    If you’re wanting to use your domain at a different host, you should never cancel it at your current host – once you decide to cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it. Also, it usually takes a few weeks for your domain registration to clear and become available once you cancel it. There isn’t an exact time, however, so you’ll be checking consistently to see when it becomes available.

    If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site

    If you recently registered the domain, you have to wait 60 days before you are able to transfer your domain to a different host, but in the meantime, you can use the domain with your site by pointing the nameservers over to your new host:

    Since we haven’t refunded the amount for the domain, I can restore it for you from park so that you can move it over to Wix.

    Thank you for your answer.

    I have registered recently so I know that I will have to wait a few days (about 10 I think) to get to the 60 days and transfer.

    Yes, can you please restore it from park ?

    Hi Mathilde, you’re all set :) You can control the domain’s settings now, and after 60 days, you can transfer too:
