Cancelled domain
-
I attempted to register my domain with Bluehost so that I could use WordPress.org and in the process deleted my domain. I registered the domain with Bluehost and would now need the name servers to point to Bluehost.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This is wordpress.COM and we do not provide support for wordpress.ORG installed hosted by Bluehost.

1. What is the domain URL?
2. What is the underlying .wordpress.com URL?
3. Exactly which username account registered the underlying .wordpress.com blog and purchased the upgrade for it?
4. When was the upgrade purchased?I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up. Thank you. I should have mentioned that I deleted my domain accidentally on WordPress.COM with the ultimate goal of moving to .ORG.

Hi there,
I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore makinglifegold.com to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back. If I am successful, I can send you a manual payment request form for you to repurchase the domain.
I will let you know once I hear back from the registrar.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

You were able to purchase the domain elsewhere?
Whois Data is still saying it is owned by WWD and WWD is saying that the domain is on hold as a result of the cancellation.

Is there anyway to release the domain from WWD? Or should I just get a refund from Bluehost. Could I reactive through WWD if so? I don’t want to lose the domain.
-
Since you canceled your domain with us, WWD will release the domain within the next few weeks. However, you run the risk of losing it to someone else who may want to register it. We cannot give a definitive date on when the domain will be released, so you’d need to continue to check the domain status.
I’d recommend trying to recover the domain and point it over to your new host until 60 days have hit. Then after 60 days, you can transfer the domain over your new host.
Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Is there a way I can recover through WP? I believe that’s the solution Bluehost gave me was to have the servers point to the new host

Hi @ shantiece!
We’ve heard back from our domain provider, and they were able to restore your makinglifegold.com domain name to your account.
I’ve gone ahead and pointed the domain to Bluehost’s name servers for you:
ns1.bluehost.com
ns2.bluehost.comIf you need to update those, you can do that by following the steps here:
Keep in mind that changes to domain settings can theoretically take up to 72 hours to take effect across the entire internet (though it’s usually just a few hours).
During that time, you may see the wrong site, or nothing at all, depending on how your browser’s request travels across the entire internet.
I hope that helps! If you have any more questions, please let us know!
