Cancelled premium, can't transfer

    I have cancelled the premium subscription for my domain and want to register the domain with a different host. However, when I try to register this domain, it says that the domain is taken, even though I have cancelled it. Does WordPress still have ownership of our domain?

    Hi @uicakpsi, cancelling a domain does not release it. It returns it to the registrar.

    I’ll contact them to see if we can get it back for you.

    Actually this domain (or the one I can see on your account) was registered at GoDaddy, so you would log in there to update its settings to point to your new host.
