    My site was originally built and hosted with Word Press but now it is hosted with Brighter Visions. I was told that I do not need Word Press anymore- please confirm– Do you have a phone number where I can chat with a WP staff person?

    Hello there,

    Brighter Visions, most likely deals with self-hosted WordPress, which is where the free open source version of the software is available via WordPress.org.

    This is different to the managed hosting WordPress.com provides, whereby we take care of the security and the required updates for the site.

    The differences can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    It’s true you wouldn’t need WordPress.com, if you’re hosting the site with a different provider.

    That said, I do not see an active purchase on this account.
