cannot access site

  cannot access site, site cannot communicate with Jetpack. Site has an abandoned theme.

  I built this site a few years ago, and haven’t touched it. I’m trying to move it and I cannot log in to WP from my hosting service, and when I log in from WP’s site, I see my full control panel along the left side. Every time I click on Posts, Media, Pages, and Settings, it goes to a blank page or to a ‘500 internal error’ message.

  I cannot change the theme (the one I had picked back in 2019 was abandoned by its creator shortly thereafter.) Attempts to change the theme result in errors

  Jetpack states that it cannot communicate with my site, but all options to restart jetpack do not work, mostly because NOTHING happens if I click on Settings.

  Not sure where to go or what further info to post.

  In the WP page “My Site” along the left side, this is what happens:

  “Stats” I can see site stats

  “Posts, Media, Pages, Comments” all say “We can’t communicate with your site because the Jetpack plugin is deactivated” and show no content

  Same error message with “Appearance”, “Plugins”, and “Users”

  Tools says, “Your Jetpack plugin is out of date. To make sure you can import reliably, update Jetpack.” If I click the link, I get a “500 internal server error”

  “Settings” gives me nothing, as if it is not a button to click

  “WP Admin” gives me I get a “500 internal server error”
