Cannot access the blog through any of the available links – error ‘DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN’

    Multiple people from different IPs and computers have been trying to access the blog but can’t. We can’t even get into the log-in page. Comes through with error – ‘This site can’t be reached. Check if there is a typo in assumptions.warwickeconomicssociety.com.
    DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN’. These are the links we’ve been using for the past year, not entirely sure what’s wrong or how to fix.

    Hi! This DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN is a fairly technical problem; are you able to contact your current host for help if needed?

    Here’s the gist: you seem to be missing a DNS entry for assumptions.warwickeconomicssociety.com

    You also seem to be using two sets of name servers: if the DNS records on both of those don’t match perfectly, you’ll run into some odd issues.

    I’d recommend working with your host to choose one DNS provider. Make sure you’ve got all of your records set up properly there. Then remove the other set of name servers. Make sure you’ve got a proper A or CNAME record set up for you assumptions subdomain. Then wait several hours for the settings changes to refresh across the internet, and you should be all set. If you have any trouble after 6 hours or so, I’d recommend contacting your host again. And once it’s all working, you can reconnect Jetpack if needed.

    Going forward, you’ll want to use the right forum for your WordPress installation (although this is more a hosting and DNS issue than anything to do with WordPress). Here’s the difference between the free WordPress software and our services: https://get.wp.com
