Cannot add the categories in the latest post block

  Hi, I created a new page with a block of latest post block.
  Whenever I add a category to custom posts shown in that page, I cannot save the change and the error mess is ‘Updating failed. The response is not a valid JSON response’
  I googled it and I tried changing the permalinks setting, also the clearing cache of the browser but the error is still there.
