Cannot Change the Email Associated with My Account

  Hello, I want to close the email account that my wordpress domain is associated with. But when I try to change my email address to my gmail address, I am told that that my gmail address already has an account associated with it. The account associated with my gmail address is: werewolffreely1cf678a907. I have no idea where this account came from, nor why it’s associated with my gmail address. I have tried to delete that account from wordpress, but I am told that I am not authorized to delete that account. What’s going on??? Who is werewolffreely??? Why on earth is this account associated with my gmail address?

  werewolffreely1cf678a907 is the username of the account already using your Gmail address. It doesn’t necessarily belong to someone else. The authorization error likely appeared because you were logged in to your other account.

  Open a private browser window and log in with your Gmail address, using an emailed login link or password reset if needed. If everything looks familiar, change that account’s email to another address you control. You can then add Gmail to the account that owns bethannrichardson.wordpress.com.

  Don’t delete the account, as Gmail would remain unavailable for 30 days. If you can’t access it or anything looks unfamiliar, reply here without posting private information.
