Cannot Choose Blog Address

  I’m trying to pick mycompanyname.wordpress.com for my blog address, but it says I cannot.

  when I type the url in mycompanyname.wordpress.com, wordpress says:
  mycompanyname.wordpress.com doesn’t exist

  If nobody has picked the name, why can’t I? I’m trying to pick my company name. Can I contact anyone about it?

  It’s a private blog and no can’t have a URL that’s already registered.

  http://mycompanyname.wordpress.com/ is marked private by its owner. You can:

  Request access to view the site. We’ll send your username to the site owner for their approval.
  Log out and sign in as different user. You’re logged in as ‘timethief’.

  mycompanyname was a placeholder name.. I didn’t want to use my real company name so nobody else tries to take it.
