Cannot create a home pages
-
I cannot create a homepage! I followed the tutorial instrutions to on how to add a home page followed by a second page but everytime I tried to add a new page the internet explorer warning box tells me that changes will be made of lost if you navigate away from this page! I tried saving the changes and although the warning box did not appear, when I went into reading settings to set the static and second page I could not find the settings to allow me to do this! Hope this makes makes sense! Thanks guys, Charles
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I am seeing your front page as being set to “Home” and your blog posts page as being set to “Blog”. Is this what you were trying to do?

Hi and thankyou for your reply.
As you can tell I’m a little cluesless with what I’m doing at the moment having recently joined. Trying to familiarise one’s self with what to do is easier said than done, so at the moment I’m just playing around with stuff to try and figure it out! In answer to your question, I went to the codex and followed the instructions on how to load a static home page and these instructions were slightly different to those in the tutorial!
I eventualy managed to load a test theme and set it for to show as the front page only. As you have seen however, it also set to the blog and I cannot delet it!Regards, Charlie.

If you are reading the codex, you are seeing instructions for self-hosted WordPress.org WordPress sites, not WordPress.com sites.
WordPress.com instructions and support pages can be found here:

Thanks rootjosh,
Gave the link a look but not much success. Think I’ll probably delet the site and start again.
-
Don’t do that. If you delete it neither you nor anyone else can ever use that URL again.

Raincoaster is right, I would encourage you NOT to delete if there is any chance that you will want your WordPress.com site/URL again in the future.
