First of all I’d like to ask is the $99 I pay setup to renew on a recurring basis? Maybe this is addressed on dashboard but I can’t find it I hope it is set up automatic. But that is not really my main concern. I’m having difficulty understanding just what it is I do need. I do
not seem to be able to set up my blog like I want I spent $68 for a custom design to no avail. And perhaps my needs might be better met by WordPress.net. Basically my goal is education, which I believe sadly our current educational system doesn’t provide. History seems to be a thing of the past no pun intended but hardly consider that much value these days. Things like that but I also have other issues I’d like to address. For instance the misuse of certain words or words that are not regarded in their context. So I guess I’m trying to say I basically just like a main page that has a title, and what it is about that is permanent so that when you access blog you will always see this. Under that I would just like a run on of posts and comments. And then on the side in this case on the right side I would like to have sections like words, esoteric, links that an individual would be able to click on to explore these different subjects. Also I have created a page to my current blog which I would like to get rid of I don’t understand how you do this. If I have to learn CSS to get what I need then that is what I will do. Please advise

First of all I’d like to ask is the $99 I pay setup to renew on a recurring basis?

You can control this from your Store -> My Upgrades page in your blog dashboard. I just checked yours and I see this message: “This upgrade will be renewed automatically in 10 months on April 26, 2014” so it looks like you’ve set it up correctly for auto renewal!

    I do
not seem to be able to set up my blog like I want I spent $68 for a custom design to no avail.

Custom Design is an upgrade made specifically for setting up custom fonts, color palettes, and CSS (if needed) for a site. You can access those options from Appearance → Themes → Customize → Fonts or Colors or CSS in your blog dashboard, but let’s go over the other things you mentioned first and then come back to Custom Design if needed.

    Basically my goal is education

This is great! I’m happy to help you get setup!

I basically just like a main page that has a title, and what it is about that is permanent so that when you access blog you will always see this.

I checked http://stopthecorporatestatenow.com/ and I see you’re currently using TheStyle theme. In that theme, there are two ways to put some permanent text at the top. One way would be to add it in a text widget so it appears at the top of the sidebar at the right. Another way would be to use a sticky post, which means you write a post normally and then stick it to the top of the list so it’s always the first box that shows up. Do either of those options sound good to you?

Under that I would just like a run on of posts and comments.

How do you feel about what you see now at http://stopthecorporatestatenow.com/ ? You’re using TheStyle as your theme right now, and that one will display all the posts in little boxes on the front page. Would you prefer to pick a different theme that shows posts on the home page in more of a list instead of in boxes like that?

And then on the side in this case on the right side I would like to have sections like words, esoteric, links that an individual would be able to click on to explore these different subjects.

This sounds like categories. I would recommend the categories widget:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/categories-widget/

Also I have created a page to my current blog which I would like to get rid of I don’t understand how you do this.

If you open the post or page for editing in your dashboard, you should see a “Trash” link if you hover over the post name if you are in a list view. Or if you are editing the post/page directly, look on the right side near the top for a “Move to Trash” that is red. If you still can’t find it, please find a link to the page you want to delete and post it in a reply here for me.

If I have to learn CSS to get what I need then that is what I will do.

CSS is a markup language that you can use to change the appearance of a design. Most people use it to make small updates to the theme they pick, for example: hiding the date on the sticky post only might be something you would like to customize. First though, you should finalize your theme choice because CSS needs to be written specific to the theme you choose. Let’s talk more about CSS after you decide on a theme.

Thank you for your timely reply. Much of your information-find immediately useful. Other of your information will take time to digest. In time I will try to follow these suggestions to revise my blog. However it will take me time and I don’t wish you to think that I am ignoring your suggestions. I do wish to respond to you at a later time regarding whether I have been successful or not. As I believe this commentary for lack of a better term is also on a form website I would like to keep it open for a while. If that’s okay?

Am I correct in thinking that I don’t need hosting with GoDaddy?

    That’s fine!

In general though, I like to keep similar questions together and separate ones in new threads. It makes it easier to digest when helping someone and it also makes it easier to search and find useful snippets later.

You can reply here, but also consider making a new help request for new questions. Especially CSS questions which have their own separate forum at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization/
