Cannot log in wordpress

    Sheri Houston was originally the admin listed on my website, but is no longer nor has been admin on my website for over a year.
    On June 13th she emailed word press to get me listed as the admin, not her.
    She forwarded me the emails and then I received an email response from word press on Aug 2 indicating a new user registration on my site is myself, but now I cannot log in word press at all to access my website.
    Please help
