Cannot see comments

  I have tried several of the forum’s options to make comments appear. I received the comment by email yet it did not appear on the blog page itself. All that is there is the “Leave a Comment” form. I tried putting in the Recent Comments widget but it didn’t show up either. The Theme I’m using is Ryu.

  Hi Trudy,

  I don’t see any comments listed in the Comments section of your site’s dashboard: https://glebans.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit-comments.php

  However, I see that you received some messages through a contact form on your site. You can see those messages under Feedback > Feedback in your site’s dashboard: https://glebans.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=feedback

  Contact forms are different from comments, in that messages sent via a contact form are private and are only sent to you. They aren’t published publicly on your site. If you want the comments to be public, I’d recommend removing the contact form so only the comment section is available for receiving comments from visitors.

  Thanks. I cannot seem to get back to the contact form that I originally set up. I do want people to be able to privately e-mail me, but i am also hoping for a more public discussion. In any case, I can’t find the way to edit the contact form. I looked in the help menu but again, while they said how to solve some problems, they did not link me to the exact place to do it. I think I have looked at every possibility in the line up. I remember setting it up but I can’t find my original page. Its probably really obvious so thank for your patience. trudy

  Hi Trudy,

  That contact form is added in the post editor, at the bottom of that post you wrote. You can find it again by going to your post at https://glebans.wordpress.com/2015/01/14/chapter-1-mclaren/ and clicking the “Edit” link (under the title, on the left).

  That will open your post in the editor, and you can scroll down to see the code that adds that contact form to your post. It will look something like this:

  [contact-form][contact-field label="Name" type="name" required="true" /][contact-field label="Email" type="email" required="true" /][contact-field label="Website" type="url" /][contact-field label="Comment" type="textarea" required="true" /][/contact-form]

  You can delete all of that code to remove the contact form from the post. Be sure to click the “Update” button to save those changes when you’re done.
