cannot seem to organize menu (is it called a menu)

very poor explanations for just about everything!! my blog is a mess and i have one entry on the top (I only have two entries) when I want NO blog titles on the top. your support page does not tell how to move an entry/blog/page off the menu. I then created a new something….I thought I was creating a category for all blog posts but it remained empty and I can’t find any instruction on all of this. You don’t even clearly say what you are calling that band of stuff on the header….maybe it’s a header? I was told it was called a “menu.” at any rate, I only want HOME and ABOUT ME up there. I was going to have a heading called “RECENT MUSINGS” where I was going to put all (two) of my blog entries but no clear direction. Is there any way you can actually help me. This is the 5th time I’ve written in a week and no one gets back!!

also, i’ve been trying to change my user name to that of my real name and that won’t work either. i thought only my real name (you sometimes call it a DISPLAY name other times FULL NAME) showed up when I made comments, posts, asked questions. Someone please help!!

We don’t actually use the display name on the forums, but if set, it should work on future comments (existing comments won’t be changed).
As for the menu, you can customize it following the guide (and video tutorial) at http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/

And why the heck do you use display names and NOT DISPLAY THEM. a user id should be to log on….it shouldn’t be DISPLAYED! A DISPLAY name should be displayed.

this whole wordpress thing is so poorly supported. i really wish you could actually get help. In order to brand something a display and user name should be the same. So I went to “change my user name” and it won’t give me my display name and I know it’s available because i have the site: melissashelly.wordpress.com
It was available when I was selecting names so I find it hard to believe it is now gone. It is confusing me with my display name and for some reason won’t allow me to change!!! I need to find a user-friendly blog platform!!1!! -
We have never used display names on the forums here to prevent impersonation.
Usernames are essentially the same as blognames in our system. You won’t be able to change your username to melissashelly because it is already taken by the blog.
Usernames can only match blognames during your initial registration.
