Cannot Unlink Externally Hosted Blog That No Longer Exists from WordPress.com

Even though our old externally hosted dev site no longer exists – it’s still displayed in the WordPress.com dashboard ‘Manage Blogs’ screen. There is no way to remove it from there. (The only option I have is to hide / show.) I have reviewed other forum posts on this topic and followed the advice related to JetPack but since the site is gone, unfortunately there’s no way to unlink it from my side.

Then I came across this response from Plugin Support to someone else who seemed to have a similar issue:

‘This most likely happened due to the sites not being properly disconnected from Jetpack before they were taken offline. To prevent stuck connections like this, make sure to disconnect first, either from https://wordpress.com/settings/manage-connection/, or from the Jetpack dashboard in WP-Admin. Sometimes a connection still gets stuck, though, in which case we’re happy to help with it.’

I believe our previous site is ‘stuck’ in this same situation. Can you remove this blog from my Manage Blogs screen for me? Thank you.

The site I need help with is [visible only to staff] (email visible only to moderators and staff)/staging/1966. It is not hosted by WordPress.com or connected with Jetpack. This site is not linked to my WordPress.com account.

  • Hi there,

I have successfully disconnected that site from your WordPress.com account.

Let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with.
