Cannot Unsubscribe

  Hi, I keep getting email notifications of blog posts from a website and want to unsubscribe. At the bottom of those emails there is a link to unsubscribe and when I click it it takes me to my WordPress account. However, in my WordPress account setting it tells me that I am not subscribed to any sites. I followed a suggestion to visit the blog I keep getting email notifications from where supposedly there should be a ‘following’ button I can click to unfollow, but there is none. How do I unsubscribe from this site and stop receiving emails from it??

  Hi there,

  What is the site you’re trying to unsubscribe from? I need the full URL of the site that appears in your browser address bar when you visit the site.

  And at what email address are you receiving the notifications? The email address for your WordPress.com account does not have any active subscriptions, and we haven’t sent you any emails since the start of September, except the ones related to this forum thread. So you most likely subscribed using a different email address, not connected to your WordPress.com account.

  The email address receiving the notifications is (email visible only to moderators and staff)

  Hi there, that subscription is under the tcklifestyle account, which has the email you referenced. If you log out of this account and then log in with the other account, and go to https://wordpress.com/following/manage, you can find and remove/delete the subscription to that site. It is titled “Luca’s Italy” but the site address may show up as http://chestnutsandtruffles.wordpress.com/.

  Thanks for that info. I logged into that account but that site does not appear in the list of sites I’m following, not under either url. The only sites it says I’m following are three WordPress sites that I think are there by default: Discover, The WordPress.com Blog, and The Daily Post. Neither Luca’s Italy or chestnutsandtruffles is listed. Please help. Thanks.

  How mysterious. I think I can see one answer: chestnutsandtruffles IS lucasitaly.com.

  I’m wondering too if you followed the two sites by submitting your email instead of through the WordPress.com account, if that makes sense.

  To test, could you try this?

  – Log out of this WordPress.com account

  – Look at one of your subscription emails. You’ll see a link for managing subscriptions

  – Click that (again, while logged out, so you don’t access subscriptions for the wrong account)

  – Let us know if the sites are listed there.

  If they are, you might simply unfollow them, then re-add them under Reader > Manage with the correct account, just to keep things easier to manage.
