Cannot Update User Profile – 403 Forbidden Error

  I am the owner of our site and have full admin access. Recently, when trying to update an author profile under ‘Users’ item, I repeatedly encounter 403 forbidden errors. The file permission for profile.php is set correctly as 0644 – as the owner I should have permission.

  I disabled all plugins and cleared the browser cache. Still the error persists. There are no related errors in the server log and we do not have ModSecurity enabled in cPanel.

  Can anyone provide any insights please?
