Cannot update wordpress, either automatically or via ftp

  Hello,

  I have read quite a bit about all of this, and I cannot figure out what is wrong. I had this issue with a previous vps installation, and now I am again having it with a new installation of wordpress, running on centos 7.

  Apache is the owner of the html directory, file permissions are correct, I can connect just fine to the server via filezilla, and plugins update just fine, but not wordpress itself, either automatically or with ftp. HELP! :)

  Hi there,

  This sounds like it might be an issue on your hosting provider’s end, so try them first.

  Or if you’re running your own server, try https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
