Cannot upgrade plan

  It says I am not authorized to view the page to upgrade my site. I can do it for other sites of mine but not for this one. I am the owner of the site but I can’t see users and things that are for the owner. How do I pay to upgrade my storage? It seems impossible.

  Hi @munur! Thanks for letting us know about this.

  I checked the site you mentioned, and noticed that the issue is related to your current user role. The role you have right now doesn’t include the permissions needed to perform that action.

  To move forward, you’ll need to either log in with the account that owns the site or ask the site owner to upgrade your role to Administrator. You can share this guide with them to help:

  Hi and thanks for the reply.

  There is no one else who is an admin. I’m supposed to be the owner and the admin. Perhaps I logged on in the beginning (20 years ago) with another password, but I cannot figure out what that was.

  And I do not know of another site that is the “owner” of this one.

  Please help me with this.

  Perhaps a better/more detailed reply would look like this below:

  The problem is that, to the best of my knowledge, there is no separate site owner. I am the original creator of this blog — I set it up in late September 2009 when our daughter was born, and I have always been the billing contact. My wife (username “thorbjorg”) is the only other contributor, and she has the same Author-level role that I do, so she is not the admin either. No one else in my family has rights on the site.

  My current best theory is that I created the site many years ago under an older personal email address that I have since stopped using, and the administrator role is still attached to that legacy account. I no longer remember which email it was, and I have no way to log in to it.

  Could you please help with one of the following:

  1. Tell me which WordPress.com account currently holds admin on olofstefania.wordpress.com — even a hint such as the domain of the email address would help me identify it so I can attempt a password recovery.
  2. Or, given that I am the billing contact and the original creator of the site, verify my ownership through your records and grant administrator rights to my current account ((email visible only to moderators and staff), username “munur”).
