Can’t access my website to edit it.

    Suddenly as of about a month ago, I cannot get into my wordpress dashboard to edit my website. It does not recognize my username or email, so I can’t even get in to change it or change the password. Help!

    You can also try commenting on a post to see where the notification email goes. Typically you can log out and log back in with that address.

    If you’re trying to access an installation at another host, I’d recommend asking your host for help with these steps:

    The site is http://www.4gaslps.com.

    I don’t need to/can’t reset my password. To do that, I must enter my user name or email, and that’s where the problem is. I keep getting an error message that it doesn’t recognize my email or user name.

    I contacted yahoo and they said as a third party, they can’t access my user name to change it. They said to contact WordPress. I even tried to hire a tech support person who specializes in WordPress issues, and they said it was a problem on yahoo’s end. I’ve been dealing with them for over a month and keep going around and around.

    We’re only able to provide support for WordPress websites that are hosted by us here at WordPress.com. For help with a WordPress site hosted elsewhere you’ll need to ask over at the WordPress.org forums:

    Depending on the level of support that is included with your hosting plan, your webhost’s support team may also be able to assist. Though in this case, it sounds like they are not being particularly helpful.
