Can't change from private blog to public (I am a new user but have saved changes

  I paid for a Blog theme. I have started my blog and wanting to go from private to public. I have tired unsuccessfuly a number of times to do this. I have checked the help page and also the forum page and done exactly what it tells me to do and then Saved the changes. I still can’t find the blog using a search engine or even just searching for a blog in wordpress?? Can you help PLEASE

  WordPress.com automatically sends notifications to Google with every post and page update. However, search engines can take 4 to 6 weeks (or more) to add any new sites.

  You can change your blog’s visibility to search engines by visiting Settings > Reading in your Dashboard, and looking under “Site Visibility”.
