    hello, i want to delete my free site but it shows me “User cannot delete jetpack site via API.”.

    I completely understand the frustration, especially when the AI assistant isn’t giving you a clear answer!

    The reason you are seeing that “User cannot delete jetpack site via API” error is because the system is treating your free staging address like an externally connected site. It blocks the deletion automatically as a security measure so you don’t accidentally lose data.

    Because of this specific error, it actually requires a real human staff member to manually remove the site connection from the backend for you.

    I’m going to add a “modlook” tag to this forum thread so a WordPress staff member can see this and delete the staging site for you right away. Hang tight, they should be able to get this sorted out for you soon!
