Can't follow a blog as my perfectly valid and boring email address is "invalid"!

Hello. I had signed up to follow the blog at http://themartinidiary.com/ some months ago, with my address “(email visible only to moderators and staff)”. I received a few updates, but then they stopped summarily, without notification. Once that dawned upon me, I attempted, just now, to re-subscribe, with the same e-mail address — but I am rejected by the platform, on the basis that my e-mail address is “invalid”, and that I should use a valid one instead. But it’s very much valid! Help, please. Thanks.
PS This refers to the blog at http://themartinidiary.com not to the one listed below, which this support form doesn’t allow me to change!

Hi there,
Since that email address is linked to your WordPress.com account, any emails for blogs you’re following at that address are controlled by your account’s notifications settings.
Right now, your account is set to block all emails from WordPress.com, which is why the email updates from that blog aren’t getting through. If you’d like to start receiving them again, you can head to your notification settings and uncheck the box next to “Block emails.”

Thanks very much. All sorted now. However, it might be interesting for you to know that I had never checked that particular box… I haven’t even been on the respective blog site, or on my WordPress page, since I’d originally signed up for alerts from that blog. I had been receiving alerts for a little while, until they suddenly stopped. So, for whatever it’s worth, that box sort of checked itself at some point!
