Cant get themes from within site
-
I set up a free site. Now I am trying to experiment with different themes from within the site. If I go to wordpress.org, I find quite a few themes. From within the site I just set up, I keep getting nothing, even though they are clearly there when I search from WordPress.org. What gives?

You do not have a WordPress.org blog, so WordPress.org themes are not available to you.
Every theme you can use is on your dashboard Themes page.

How do I change from tomthesawyerandwoody.wordpress.com. to .org? I didn’t know there was a choice.
How do I delete the .com ? And how do you make the selection when setting up a site? -

How do I delete a WordPress.com site that I no longer need? I don’t need to take up server space for something I will no longer use. I will be running on a commercial platform. This was an attempt to experiment before going to the commercial site.

You delete it on the Dashboard Tools page. Deletions are permanent and irreversible and neither you nor anyone else can ever use that URL again.
