Can’t join a pending invitation

Hi! I got an invitation from my school to join their site, however, when I try to join it says that ‘user is already connected.’ When I go in to see my sites it shows that there are none. I was wondering how I could fix this bug.
I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

The invitation was sent, but it looks like you haven’t accepted it yet.
You would have received an invitation email with a button to click to finish the process.
If it’s not in your email’s inbox, please check your email’s spam folder.
The email’s title should be “Connor Riano invited you to become an author on PittHonors”.

I click “accept invitation” on the email that i’ve received and it takes me to a separate page on wordpress and says join or cancel and I click join and says “the user is already connected.

Hm, ok. Would you please try copying the link from the email and opening it in a Chrome Incognito window instead?
This will rule-out any cache, cookies, or extensions that might be conflicting.

Ok, I believe we’ve got this fixed up for you now.
You should have a new invitation email now, and clicking the button to accept it should work now (only the button in the new email will work, the older buttons will not).
