Can’t Log in to Any of My Sites

    Hi, WordPress,
    I have admin access to six sites that use WordPress. Today, I was creating a post on my main site (LynseyG.com) and hit ‘preview.’ When I came back to my original tab, I had been logged out. Not a big deal; that happens most of the time, and I know it’s a glitch I should address, but I have always just dealt with it.
    Except today, I couldn’t log back in. I kept entering my credentials to be met with the same blank login screen. Sometimes I was asked to prove I was human, sometimes I wasn’t, but it simply WOULD NOT log me in. (It’s not a password issue; I know what those look like.)
    I tried logging in to my WordPress account so I could access my other sites, and I’m getting similar problems. I can log in to WordPress (obviously, since I’m messaging from here), but when I visit any of my sites that way, I’m not logged in to them.
    When I try to log in the normal way, the same thing happens: The site refreshes, and my login info is still nowhere to be seen.

    I cleared my cache and cookies for all time, but nothing has changed.

    Hi Lynsey, sorry you’re having trouble! At this point I’d recommend reaching out to your host.

    Noting WordPress (the free software on your site) and WordPress.com (our hosting service, and related services like Gravatar) are two different things. The account for our services isn’t necessarily the same as the account on your own copy of the free software.

    So if you still can’t access wp-admin for your own copy of WordPress, try asking your host for help with this:
    https://wordpress.org/support/article/resetting-your-password/

    Then if you need more WordPress help, you’ll want to use https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ — just note you’ll need to create an account there, too, as it is is also a separate site. But it’s the correct site for help with the free software. Cheers!

    Hi everyone,

    Last night I cleared Chrome history for all time, and this morning I can’t even get to an admin login option for my WordPress site. (http://chinookjargon.com)

    I cleared cookies, per some advice I read, but it’s not a help.

    Wordpress is letting me login to my WordPress account, mind you, but on cicking My Sites, I’m told “You don’t have any WordPress sites yet”.

    Help?! I blog daily for my business, but I’m not a highly tech-savvy person :/

    Hi Dave –

    You need to sign in to your other account in order to access that site. Sign out and back in under the chinookjargon account.
